Michael Covarrubias

Michael Covarrubias is an Enterprise Architect at Arizona Public Service (APS) a subsidiary of Pinnacle West Capital Corporation. APS is an electric utility company covering all aspects of generation, distribution and transmission across the verticals of fossil, nuclear and renewables. Michael leads the efforts in identifying and implementing strategies to support the business direction through technology by working with the business leaders to uncover the business capabilities. Michael’s past experience includes being the Information Technology Director at Edge Logistics and owning a private IT consulting company for 6 years.

Michael has a track record of developing streamlined, cost-efficient IT solutions for organizations and providing cutting-edge IT leadership for all aspects of IT from designing, planning, budgeting and all the way to the details of creating of overall IT infrastructure and processes along with optimized various system architectures. He has extensive experience in working closely with senior management and key stakeholders, business units, partners, focus groups, PMOs and C-suite executives.

Michael is a graduate of Arizona State University (Bachelors in Computer System Engineering), and the University of Phoenix (MBA). He also completed the Executive Management and Leadership Certificate program from University of Notre Dame along with the Certificate program in Business Improvement (Lean Six-Sigma) from Auburn University.
