Leading UK law firm, Thomson Snell & Passmore, has reportedly decided to future-proof its business by embracing Enterprise Mobility, with the help of MobileIron and its mobility partner Appurity.

The firm, which has a history dating back to 1570, will use the accomplished solution providers to grant its employees secure mobile access to highly confidential client and business information, leveraging mobile devices and applications.

"The decision to choose MobileIron was very easy; it is one of the leading EMM platforms on the market and we were confident the solution would provide us with the security we require to keep our sensitive client data confidential," said Anthony Graham, Head of Information Systems at Thomson Snell & Passmore.

The mobile strategy which has been devised will involve replacing BlackBerry devices with iPhones, and introducing a BYOD policy that allows employees to use either a corporate, or personally-owned device for work purposes.

"We are operating in a highly competitive landscape, so being able to increase employee efficiency and satisfaction is key to our continued longevity. With MobileIron, we have been able to mobilise more core business processes beyond email. Now our team is able to accomplish both work and personal tasks from one device," said Graham.

The long-standing law firm required the right tools to manage cases as efficiently as possible, without compromising confidential client information. As well as securing emails across mobile devices, the firm has deployed all its business apps through MobileIron's Apps@Work Enterprise App Store. This allows the firm to ensure every employee has the most current set of apps on each device, including apps such as telephone conferencing software and BigHand, an app which allows lawyers to dictate notes and share them securely.

"Our lawyers need to be able to hit the ground running, so being able to rollout MobileIron's platform quickly to all employees was paramount. From a management point of view, MobileIron allows us to easily secure devices from a central console and it improves our application and email security," concluded Graham.
