Epson America, Inc. a leader in value-added point of sale (POS) solutions and services has announced a new mobile printer with a built-in auto-cutter, to allow retail and hospitality companies to improve transaction accuracy and satisfaction for customers, operational efficiency and organisational productivity.

The new solution, named the Mobilink P80 Plusprinter, is set to round out Epson's mobile printer range, leveraging its ePOS Print and Server Direct Print technologies, with a superior auto-cutter feature to allow customers to save time and reduce error.

According to 2014 research by IHL Group, mobility in retail is now a $7.8billion business worldwide, and the single fastest moving trend in retail since the Internet was added to stores. The research also revealed that more than 3.6million tablets will be shipped for use in North American retail and hospitality by 2016. This new solution demonstrates that mobile printers are set to be an essential component of that growth.

"We've seen a dramatic shift in retail and hospitality over the past few years, and mobility is at the forefront," said Gregg Brunnick, Director of Product Management and Technical Services, Business Systems Division, Epson America. "As the only vendor to offer auto-cutter functionality for mobile printers, we eliminate the cumbersome act of manually cutting receipts. Our rugged Mobilink P80 Plus printer with auto-cutter nicely rounds out our suite of mobile solutions that help meet today's retail and hospitality demands for more efficient service and operations."

The Mobilink P80 will be ideally suited for enterprise applications in retail and food service. The new solution will feature the industry's first 3" receipt printer with auto-cutter, leveraging Epson's ePOS Print technology.

Additionally, the mobile printer will offer rapid print speed, improved battery life, paper-saving capabilities, and the connectivity options needed to meet the requirements of today's iOS, Android and Windows printing applications.

Finally, Mobilink's P80 Plus new built-in auto-cutter will offer retail organisations greater performance and accuracy, to take the next step in mobile-enabled customer service.
