Twitter Interview: Strategic Tips for Moving in the Direction of Mobility

In the opinion of John Nicklin, Managing Member of Waste Strategies LLC, for organisations that are moving in the direction of mobility, communicating across the business and allowing people to provide feedback may lengthen the process up front, but in the long run it will allow everyone involved to participate more fully.

In this interview, John also discusses how to keep the entire enterprise engaged and informed about the mobility strategy, as well as sharing his views on where the market for devices and applications is heading, all in 140 characters or less!

Enterprise Mobility Exchange: Which key trends do you see emerging in the mobility market at the moment?

J Nicklin: Applications, and the goal of the community at large to achieve an i-Pad look and feel seems to be the most talked about amongst my peers.

EME: What should an organisation moving in the direction of mobility consider when trying to engage their entire enterprise with their strategy?

J Nicklin: Consider the goal and the outcome and look broader into opportunities that exist to further automate processes in the back end.

EME: What can mobility leaders do when overcoming obstacles in trying to ensure that the wider enterprise is bought into their mobility strategy?

J Nicklin: The answer is engagement. Communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

EME: Where are Waste Strategies leading the way in terms of Enterprise Mobility and IT? What's been your greatest success to date and why?

J Nicklin: Our greatest success is the ability to deliver content to the end user in a way that allows them to make smarter decisions.

EME: Where do you think the mobility market is heading in the next 12 - 18 months? What do you think will have the biggest impact and why?

J Nicklin: I think that the mobility market is going to be enamoured with devices, like new Android and new i-Pad versions.
