Whilst attending a previous Enterprise Mobility Exchange event, Calvin Cho, Market Development Manager, Global Business Department at Bluebird Inc./Pidion shared his views on the potential for mobile technology to continue to proliferate in the Asia Pacific region in the very near future.

Calvin expressed his confidence that Enterprise Mobility Exchange events in the APAC region would provide a valuable opportunity for organisations to interact, exchange philosophies and exchange strategies, to bridge the gap between the complexities of technology from regions outside of APAC.

There are many opportunities for mobile vendors, suppliers, solution providers and consultants to help introduce those advanced technologies into Asian companies that are planning to invest. Equally, mobile practitioners in the APAC region can benefit enormously from embracing thought leadership and mobile strategies from successful implementation, in regions with greater experience in Enterprise Mobility.

In line with these expectations, Forbes recently reported that mobile penetration across a number of APAC countries is now above 100%, including Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea and Australia. Additionally, smartphone penetration in South Korea has grown to 82.4%, with Singapore close behind at 74.2%.

To support and facilitate this kind of positive acceleration, the Enterprise Mobility Exchange, APAC will run for its second consecutive year this October in Singapore, at which an intimate group of hand-selected CIOs, VPs and Heads of Mobile Workforce, Field Service, IT, Fleet Management and Operations from enterprises across the Asia Pacific region will attend. This is set to be the only meeting of its kind, which is solely focused on Enterprise Mobility, in the diverse region.
