AT&T and Microsoft Launch Mobile Solution to Improve Productivity for Small Businesses

Microsoft and AT&T will make it easier than ever for small and mid-sized businesses to collaborate by voice, video and web from mobile devices with a new solution.

This collaborative integrated product, the AT&T Mobile OfficeSuite, will help improve employee productivity both in and outside of the office.

The solution has been developed to meet demands derived from the rapid pace of business, which requires employees to efficiently collaborate and communicate regardless of time or location. In a market which is seeing a gradual shift towards cloud-based solutions, small businesses have often been unable to fully adapt due to limited budgets and lack of technical support.

The AT&T Mobile Office Suite is a cloud-based mobile collaboration solution, available in the US, which will help solve these challenges by providing a simple, all-in-one bundle at a stable monthly cost. Small businesses will be able to utilise fast, easy, secure access to voice calls, emails, calendars instant messaging, desktop and file sharing, and more enterprise features.

"The new solution from AT&T and Microsoft gives our global financial team added flexibility to serve our clients from almost anywhere," said beta customer Gary K. Carpenter, Principal, Haddonfield Asset Management. "With one phone number assigned globally, we can receive and place calls interchangeably from our desk phones and mobile devices in the US. It allows us to respond to client requests in real-time, giving us an advantage in a competitive financial industry."

Other benefits for small businesses include access to Microsoft Office 365 productivity tools such as Lync, Exchange, World, Excel, Outlook and OneDrive from any device; availability on new or existing AT&T Windows Phone, as well as AT&T devices running on iOS or Android; and on-boarding and technical support for data migration and deployment services.

AT&T also plans to add Global Audio Conferencing later this year so that users can join Lync-based meetings from almost anywhere in the world.

"Microsoft and AT&T are creating powerful opportunities for small and mid-sized businesses to leverage collaboration technology that was once out of their reach," said Ralph de la Vega, president and CEO, AT&T Mobile & Business Solutions. "We're bringing together our leading cloud, mobility and software assets to create an integrated solution that's easy, affordable, highly secure and backed by the nation's most reliable 4G LTE network."

This is a clear example of how innovative mobile solutions can allow organisations of all sizes to make significant savings on costs in key areas and gain advantages over competitors.
