Arxan Buys Apperian To Boost Mobile App Security Solutions
Two application management leaders are joining forces, creating a formidable provider in the mobile security space.
Arxan Technologies, an application attack prevention solution provider, announced it has acquired Apperian, the mobile application management and security company.
Founded in 2009, Apperian made a name for itself in less than eight years, quickly becoming a leader in in enterprise mobile app security and was listed as a representative vendor by Gartner.
Under the acquisition, Apperian executive Mark Lorion will become President and General Manager for the company. “The Apperian team and I are thrilled to be joining Arxan,” he said in the announcement. “We share an app-centric philosophy with Arxan and believe that mobile apps should be protected so that they can be safely distributed to any user leveraging any device. Enterprises are realizing the significant benefits of applying security and management at the app-level to maximize the secure adoption and reach of their mobile apps.”
Arxan’s software defends applications against attacks, detects attempted attacks at run-time, and deters attacks. The acquisition will give Arxan customers access to Apperian’s SaaS software and enterprise deployments for their mobile apps.
“We have witnessed substantial growth in mobile and IoT applications investment by enterprise over the past few years, and we are excited to bring Apperian into the Arxan fold,” said Arxan CEO Joe Sander in the announcement. “The application security and management capabilities Apperian provides are pivotal for organizations to securely deploy and manage their apps and we’re excited to offer our customers Apperian’s MAM products. This acquisition puts Arxan in a unique position with the strongest and most comprehensive solution for enterprise application protection and management for both mobile and IoT.”
