Healthcare IT Is 'Drowning In Data,' And That's An Issue
There are legal, ethical, and financial ramifications that come with not staying compliant with the regulations of the healthcare industry, and not addressing those issues could mean tens of millions of dollars in losses to the enterprise.
Since data is the baseline for all IT decisions in any industry, it needs to be wrangled, secured, and monitored, more so in the healthcare industry than any other. So how can executives ensure that data is being consumed and disseminated in a secure, privacy enhancing and compliant fashion?
That’ll be the focus for Jason Elrod, Chief Information Security Architect for Sutter Health, as he speaks on “Setting Up A D.U.I. (Data Usage Identity) Checkpoint For Your Enterprise: How To Understand and Progress Mobility In A Stringent Regulatory Environment,” at the Enterprise Mobility Exchange: Healthcare event, coming up on June 12 and 13 at the La Cantera Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas.
Elrod is one of a dozen speakers and panelists who will be addressing the audience of mobile technology in healthcare executives during a two-day, jam-packed agenda. Elrod will touch on several key considerations in the mobile regulations space, including:
- Regardless of the regulation, what are the big rocks you need to master in order to start making sense of it all?
- How do we ensure that we are delivering the mobile experience in a secure and compliant fashion?
- The regulation police: how do you continuously ensure your enterprise is staying current on new regulations and policy?
Additional speakers at the Exchange include Rebecca Wynn, Head of Information Security at Matrix Medical Network; Brian Heemsoth, Director of Global Innovation at Aetna; and David Krebs, EVP with analyst firm VDC Research.
The event will offer times for attendees to network with their peers and meet with onsite solution providers, as well as think tank and round table discussions. To find out more about Enterprise Mobility Exchange: Healthcare, visit the site here.
