Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and leading secure mobility provider Good Technology today announced the immediate availability of Good for Samsung KNOX, merging Good's leading-edge app container and broad app ecosystem with the Samsung KNOX enterprise security platform for Android.

The launch of Good for Samsung KNOX signifies the next step in the partnership between Samsung and Good, which aims to deliver world-class mobile enterprise security solutions, first announced at Mobile World Congress in 2014.

This collaboration creates the most secure solution for enterprises and government agencies looking to accelerate their Android programs to drive mobile productivity in a secure environment. Good is now the only EMM solution provider whose secure container platform and app ecosystem is integrated directly into the KNOX security stack.

Good for Samsung KNOX creates a Good-secured domain within KNOX's security-enhanced Android operating system, where any Good apps, Good-secured apps or custom apps secured by the Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform reside. Good also contributes comprehensive support for KNOX's extended MDM API set.

"The largest companies in the world trust Good Technology as the secure mobility leader, including all of the Fortune 100 commercial banks and other industry leading companies in over 190 countries," according to Christy Wyatt, Chairman and CEO of Good Technology. "By partnering with Samsung to integrate our container and secure app ecosystem with the KNOX platform, we are delivering a comprehensive, layered solution to secure Samsung Android devices in the enterprise."

Samsung KNOX is the only current Android provider of defence-grade and government-certified mobile security which complies with key US Government and Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives, as well as other standards for mobile device security. This enables its deployment in government and other highly regulated enterprise environments.

"Together, Samsung and Good are addressing the growing importance of mobility management for enterprises, by delivering a secure mobile productivity solution for Android that will relieve organisations of past concerns with Android adoption such as rooting, viruses and malware," said Injong Rhee, Executive Vice President of Enterprise Business, IT and Mobile Business at Samsung Electronics. "The combination of Samsung and Good represents the best solution for secure enterprise Android productivity, no matter whether corporate-liable, COPE or BYOD device ownership models are being used."
